Discovery Awaits on the Long Beach Peninsula, Washington’s favorite beach vacation destination!

Located on Washington’s southwestern-most coast, where the Pacific Ocean meets the mighty Columbia River, the Long Beach Peninsula is rich in activities, attractions and award-winning lodging and dining establishments. Surrounded by the waters of the Pacific Ocean, Columbia River and Willapa Bay, this vacation destination has been a family favorite for generations and maintains the feel of working seaside villages of yesteryear.

Here you’ll find a wealth of migrating birds,  two lighthouses, military forts, museums and interpretive centers. It is here, where the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean meet, that Lewis and Clark realized President Jefferson’s quest. Today’s visitors find a wealth of attractions to feed an inquisitive mind and an adventurous spirit.Leadbetter Point, the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge, Cape Disappointment (aka Fort Canby) State Park, the Ilwaco Marina, and public beaches offer venues for kayaking, beach combing, bird watching, hiking, fishing charters, clam digging, horseback riding and kite flying. Strolling and cycling the Long Beach Boardwalk and the 8-mile long Discovery Trail are also favorite pastimes.

Events are held each month throughout the year and on every summer weekend. Notable are the Washington State International Kite Festival, the SandSations sand sculpture competition, Doggie Olympic Games, Clamshell RailRoad Days, Cranberrian Fair & Harvest Festival, SummerFest, the Northwest Garlic Festival and ‘Ocian in View‘–a Lewis & Clark event held Veterans Day weekend.
