Abate of Washington sponsored the inaugural Wildwood Blues Rally benefit run on July 10-12, 2009.  The run included a Bike BBQ, poker run, bike games, 50/50 raffle, music by New Iberians, campfire stories, vendors and camping at Wildwood Campground and RV Park.

Wildwood has the feeling of seclusion on 15 acres, with 28 grassy RV sites, 24 wooded tent sites and 4 group sites. They’re minutes from the beach and downtown Long Beach.  With a catch and release lake, you can bring your fishing gear, or enjoy basketball, volleyball, soccer, horseshoes and board games since all a part of the Wildwood experience.

The Wildwood Blue Rally was just $15 and included Friday and Saturday camping (per person).  This writer appreciates their rule of no pets, firearms or fireworks and a minimum age of 21 for this adult activity.

Here’s an excerpt from a review just posted by Joan at biker-events.com:

Sitting there in traffic and the drive down Hwy 4 on the Washington side (much better view than Hwy 30 on the Oregon side) I remember why I love living in the Pacific NW.  Not religious by any means, but we do live in God’s country.  The trip there would have been great on the bike, have been on this road before and still puts me in awe every time.  Moving through the construction zones, no long waits just a 20 minute delay to my trip and violating the speed limit put my on the site on time.   [more]

There’s a lot of camping here on the Peninsula, both tent and RV, but it’s smart to have reservations, especially on summer weekends.
