Slow Drag at the Port
Hot Rods line up on Howerton Way at the port of Ilwaco to compete in a coasting competition. Cars have approximately 15 feet in which to accelerate and then coast for 200 yards. To win, a car must cross the finish line and stop closest to the line. Trophies and assorted gift certificates awarded.

This series of free concerts is presented at the Confluence Project amphitheater overlooking Waikiki Beach in Cape Disappointment State Park. Regional musicians present their unique interpretations of folk music. One hour performances start at 2:00 pm.

10K Run & 5K Walk/Run
AND Half Marathon!
33rd annual Beach to Chowder Run. Participants choose Half Marathon on Discovery Trail through ocean dunes, 5k walk/run or 10k run with ocean waves breaking nearby. All races Saturday morning; actual starting time TBD. Eight age divisions, many prizes; clam chowder served at awards ceremony.

Sturgeon Derby
BAt Chinook Marina. Winners receive cash, Lamiglas Rods & Kuma Reels. Last year, 50 kids went home w/trout, rod & reels. Dinner included. Space limited to 600. Competitors get competition T-shirt, if entered by cut off date.

Doggie Olympic Games
Fun for dogs of all ages, sizes, shapes and abilities. Show off your pup’s skills by competing in 'Dunking for Dogs,’ ‘The Peanut Butter Lick,’ Shedding Contest and more. Some contests involve the participation of the handler. Register at the event. For their safety, puppies under 4 months not permitted at the event.

Relay For Life
Relay for Life is a fun over-night event which raises money for the fight against cancer. Teams of 8-15 gather with camping gear to participate in the fund raising run/walk. Funds raised aid in research, education, advocacy and patient services. Fees apply only to teams. Opening ceremonies at 7PM Friday; closing ceremonies at 1PM Saturday. [more]
