Feel the Thunder! Join locals at the Port of Ilwaco for fireworks at dusk. Seating for the fireworks over the marina at the Port of Ilwaco is on the lawn in front of the harbor, next to port restaurants and shops.

Ocean Park's Old Fashioned 4th of July
Fun family events! An old fashioned 4th of July Parade with thousands of onlookers where children are welcome to ride bicycles & adults may build a float & join in. Enjoy Art in the Park at Sheldon Park, across from Ocean Park Elementary. This show is open for artists of all media to participate and everyone to enjoy.

Independence Day Fireworks on the Beach
The annual fireworks show takes place in front of the Long Beach boardwalk and beach over the ocean. With thousands of vacationers enjoying personal fireworks along 28-miles of public beach, the displays go on for hours before and after the official show, creating an evening of lights sparkling off the water.

Beach Cleanup Day!
The Grass Roots Garbage Gang organizes a beach clean up for the 28 miles of beach on the Long Beach Peninsula. Hundreds of locals & visitors come out to clean the beach. Anyone interested in helping out is welcome to join any of the three events. Free chowder included!

Art Walk in Ilwaco (city-wide)
Over 15 Ilwaco businesses open their doors and welcome friends, neighbors and visitors with refreshments and art. This popular event features two raffles with free gifts from all participating shops and restaurants. A percentage of all proceeds generated during these events will go to help sponsor peninsula non-profits and community organizations.

Waikiki Beach Concert Series
This series of free concerts is presented at the Confluence Project amphitheater overlooking Waikiki Beach in Cape Disappointment State Park. Regional musicians present their unique interpretations of folk music. One hour performances start at 2:00 pm.

Clamshell RailRoad Days
The 7th Annual Clamshell Railroad Days celebrates the history of the IR&N Railroad-the only railroad that ran with the tides-that ran on the Long Beach Peninsula from 1889-1930. Co-sponsored with the Peninsula Model Railroad Club, it includes model railroad layouts from regional clubs, historical presentations, vendors and a bus tour.

A 3-day event with authentic Scandinavian costumes musicians, cultural & historical presentations, the Paavo Nurmi Run/Walk, boot toss, wife carry, food & craft demonstrations, photographic displays, art & flower displays, kantele & genealogy workshops, May Pole & Scandinavian dancers, dance lessons, dancing until midnight, worship service, pulla & coffee, squeaky cheese, rieska!

Friday evening, 6:30 pm Rodeo Parade in downtown Long Beach! Oregon Tuna Classic
Several tournaments happen along the Oregon/Washington coast with teams of 4 anglers competing to bring in the 5 biggest tuna in aggregate weight. The resulting catch is donated to the area’s food banks. Prizes are offered for the top three teams.

Slow Drag at the Port
Hot Rods line up on Howerton Way at the port of Ilwaco to compete in a coasting competition. Cars have approximately 15 feet in which to accelerate and then coast for 200 yards. To win, a car must cross the finish line and stop closest to the line. Trophies and assorted gift certificates awarded.

Rod Run to the End of the World
This annual classic car show features thousands of automobiles, from Model As to the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s. The main events are held at Wilson Field in Ocean Park, but the cars will be seen all over the peninsula. No alcohol or pets at event.

Wild Mushroom Celebration
The Long Beach Peninsula is home to a variety of delectable wild mushrooms. In the fall of the year, local restaurateurs and Bed and Breakfast owners delight their patrons and guests with a number of special events celebrating the harvest of local wild mushrooms.

Peninsula Arts Association Fall Show
The 40th Annual PAA Fall Show will be showing over 60 local artists and will have their unique works available for viewing and purchasing. There will also be a raffle held with the proceeds benefiting a local high school scholarship.

One Sky, One World Kite Celebration
The World Kite Museum joins people all over the globe to promote international friendship and peace. Participants can bring homemade kites or purchased ones; those who wish can make a kite at event headquarters Through the ‘skype’ program, the audience will watch kites flying in Singapore, Columbia, Minnesota and more.

89th Annual Cranberrian Fair

Cribbage Tournament
Cribbage tournament sanctioned by the American Cribbage Congress (ACC). Starting Fri. night with doubles & singles play. Saturday is the 22 game main tournament. (Play- offs on Sunday). Saturday night 9 game tour. Sunday is a 9-game tour with playoffs.

Windless Kite Festival (Indoor Kite Fly)
This indoor kite flying extravaganza features the northwest’s finest performers of choreographed kite flying to music indoors. Some perform solos; others work in pairs while still others create group performance. A special competition called “Hot Tricks Shoot Out” matches 2 flyers in almost acrobatic flying tricks.

Black Lake Fishing Derby
Kids only derby; ages 0-14. Free pancake breakfast 7AM; fishing starts at 10:30. Pre-register online, at Ilwaco City Hall or at Derby. Refreshments & hot dogs for lunch. Children must be accompanied by adult. Some fishing poles may be available (first come, first served). Prizes awarded by age group & aggregate weight.

60th Annual Loyalty Day Celebration
Long Beach boasts the longest consecutively running Loyalty Day celebration in the nation. The fun begins in local schools with the crowning of the Loyalty Days Junior and Senior Courts. Just before the big weekend, guest dignitaries visit local schools. The main events are on Saturday & Sunday:

Loyalty Day Children's Parade
The Loyalty Day Children’s Parade begins at noon; line-up/registration begins around 11:00 AM. All children are welcome to participate. Adults can cheer them on as well as enjoy the first Saturday Market of the season.

Blessing of the Fleet
Gaily decorated parade of boats to mouth of Columbia River for blessing. Memorial wreath dropped by Coast Guard helicopter. Free boat rides to site, departing at 1:00 pm.

SUNDAY of Loyalty Weekend

LONG BEACH

Loyalty Day Grand Parade
This parade boasts more than one hundred entries from around the country each year and lasts more than two fun-filled hours. Pacific Hwy in Downtown Long Beach.

33rd Annual Beach to Chowder
10K Run & 5K Walk/Run
AND Half Marathon!
33rd annual Beach to Chowder Run. Participants choose Half Marathon on Discovery Trail through ocean dunes, 5k walk/run or 10k run with ocean waves breaking nearby. All races Saturday morning; actual starting time TBD. Eight age divisions, many prizes; clam chowder served at awards ceremony.

Relay For Life
Relay for Life is a fun over-night event which raises money for the fight against cancer. Teams of 8-15 gather with camping gear to participate in the fund raising run/walk.
