Join the celebration of the 31st annual 5K and 10K Beach-to-Chowder Run/Walk followed by the Doggie Olympic Games at Long Beach and the Garlic Festival at Ocean Park, Washington. Spend the weekend in the sun running a 10K on hard-packed beach sand with ocean waves breaking just a few yards away; or, run or walk a 5K on the beach. Work up an appetite with the race of your choice, then get ready to taste clam chowder while your non-participating family and friends enjoy the Peninsula. Following the race is the annual Garlic Festival held throughout the weekend in Ocean Park and the Saturday Market on the Ilwaco waterfront. In addition, enjoy the 2nd Annual Doggie Olympic Games on the beach in front of the Boardwalk. Beach to chowder run/walk Time: Starts promptly at 10:00 am Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times. Strollers and spectators are welcome on the 5K run/walk. AWARDS Walkers: Non-competitive. Come and enjoy the fun, beach and chowder. Finisher medals or ribbons for all participants. Runners: Runners will compete in one of nine age-group divisions. Trophies will be awarded to the top overall male and female finishers in both races. Finisher medals for all participants. Age-group divisions
Awards Ceremony & Chowder Feed The Awards Ceremony also begins at 12 noon, at the Gazebo on 3rd & Pacific in downtown Long Beach. There will also be random drawings for prizes furnished by local merchants. Registration Your entry form must be postmarked no later than June 13. Registrations will be taken from 5:30 to 7:00 pm Friday, June 20th and 7:30 am to 9:15 am race day at the Long Beach Train Depot (3rd and Pacific N, downtown Long Beach). Please allow ample time prior to 9:15 am to complete your registration. All entrants will receive a race bib. Officials must be able to clearly see your number as you approach the finish line. Entrants without visible numbers are disqualified for awards. Entry Fees After June 13th: $27 with T-shirt*; $15 without T-shirt. All registered participants will receive a free ticket to the chowder lunch in their packets and complimentary AquaFina water or cran-juices, courtesy of Ocean Spray and Harbor Pacific Bottling Co., at the finish line.
