For more than twenty years, thousands of folks have come to the Peninsula over Memorial Weekend for its 28-Mile, fun-filled yard sale.
It’s impossible to keep track of how many shoppers and vendors we have, but it’s grown to be an outrageously fun event with steals and deals around every corner.
You’ll find locals and part-timers selling stuff they’ve accumulated throughout the years, non-profit organizations who have gathered from their flocks as well as a few professional dealers and vendors.
While you might pick up a copy of the local paper to get started, you can really just drive and look for signs. There is no comprehensive list of all the sales. In fact, we’re yet to talk to someone who has managed to cover every sale on the Peninsula in one weekend. Yes, there are that many.
Be prepared to discover some neat places, interesting people, and quaint stops. In fact, we have groups show up each year who are engaged in listed treasure hunts, photo scavenger hunts, and other fun activities that have nothing to do with actually shopping.
