Kites, Kites, KITES!

With Washington State International Kite Festival starting on Monday, this blogger’s review of the Kite Museum is timely.  Be sure to visit the Museum during the festival.  They’ll also have a booth on the festival approach.

Kite museum“If you have an interest in kites–history, how they are made, different designs in different countries–this is the place to come!  There are vintage videos showing how kites have been used in military training, fighting kites in Japan and other interesting aspects of this art/sport.  Admission fees:  $5 for adults; $4 for seniors and $3 for children.  They have a great gift shop as well. As part of your admission, you, and your children, can make a simple kite to fly on the beach or take home.  Located at 303 Sid Snyder Drive, Long Beach, Washington.  Go spend the day on the beach, visit the museum, go fly a kite! “
