An historic rural community at the mouth of the Willapa River, Raymond offers a number of unique attractions.
Visitors will be drawn to the more than 250 life-sized steel sculptures of people and wildlife which line highway 101 and the downtown area.
Two museums invite exploration; the Seaport Museum which showcases the region’s shipbuilding history, as well as lighthouses and lightships, and the nearby Northwest Carriage Museum features 20 horse-drawn carriages, buggies and sleighs from the early 19th century.
The refurbished Raymond Theater, still in use, is on both the National & State Registers of Historical Places and summer weekends offer the chance to browse the Public Market.
Hikers enjoy the Willapa River Trail, which begins in Raymond and extends for 5 miles along the river and Ellis Slough. Kayaking, biking and birding are other popular pursuits.
