Holiday Events on the Peninsula

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, the Peninsula is about to jump into the holiday season full force. Here’s the rundown on holiday events happening through New Year’s Eve.

Free State Park Day – Nov. 24

If you’re not a fan of shopping, this is a great way to skip Black Friday. Washington State Parks will be having their last free park day of the year November 24. It’s a great time of year to head to Cape Disappointment and miss the crowds.

Studio Tour – Nov. 24-26

This year marks the Peninsula Arts Association’s 10th annual studio tour. November 24-26, you’re invited to explore the Peninsula’s backroads and visit our local artists in their personal studios from Ilwaco to Oysterville. You’ll find a little bit of everything. Wood carving, tile art, jewelry, ornaments, paintings, pottery, metal art, and more. Check out this year’s map.

Holidays at the Beach – Nov. 24-26

This exciting family friendly event kicks off Friday, November 24 with the Polar Express pajama party at Neptune Theater. The showing is free for everyone. Saturday is packed with crafts, photos with Santa, the Snow Queen & Friends Show, a tree lighting, and holiday caroling! Finish the weekend off with the Christmas Mermaid. You can have holiday pictures taken with her between 11 AM and 1 PM on Sunday.

Downtown Raymond Lighted Christmas Parade – Dec. 2

At 6 PM, gather on Third Street in downtown Raymond for a classic, lighted Christmas parade! Bring your family to watch the street fill with brightly lit floats and holiday spirit.

Crab Pot Christmas – Dec. 2

Ilwaco’s traditional lighting of the Crab Pot Christmas Tree and the World’s Shortest Fireworks Show has been going on for 10 years now! Join in on the crabby Christmas caroling and visit Santa at Time Enough Books afterwards. The Don Nisbett Art Gallery will have hot chocolate and cookies available. There’s nothing quite like it. Specials and other events offered by local businesses will be announced. Check the event page on Facebook for updates.

Water Music Christmas Concert – Dec. 3

Don’t miss the Water Music Society’s annual Christmas concert. This year celebrate the season with Tingstad and Rumbel, Grammy-winning artists. Tickets for this wonderful evening of music, refreshments and drinks are only $10. You can purchase the tickets online or at the door. The concert will take place in the lovely chapel in The Inn at Harbour Village.

Tuba Christmas – Dec. 9

The Astoria Tuba Quartet will be playing Christmas classics, jazz arrangements, and even a bit of polka at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum at 2 PM. This fun, family friendly concert is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. The current members of the quartet have been playing together since 1997. This is sure to be a holiday treat!

Bed and Breakfast Holiday Open House – Dec. 9-10

Get a taste for our amazing Bed and Breakfasts at this year’s Holiday Open House. Get a taste of coastal living holiday style between 1:00 and 4:00 PM. They will have sweet treats and sparkling drinks. Bring a donation of one non-perishable food item per party to be distributed to a local food bank. This year’s participants include Boreas Inn, Campbell House at Klipsan Beach, Charles Nelson Guest House, The George Johnson House, The Inn at Harbour Village, and The Shelburne Inn.

Handmade Bazaar – Dec. 16

Sou’Wester and Adrift Hotel are partnering this year to host the 3rd annual Handmade Bazaar. Local and regional vendors will be gathering to sell their handmade crafts between 10 AM-4 PM at Adrift and 12-6 PM at Sou’Wester. Discover all things handmade from jewelry and greeting cards to walnut ink and wall tapestries.

Fireworks at Midnight – Dec. 31

Start the new year off right and watch fireworks over the ocean from our boardwalk! Bring some hot cocoa to keep it cozy.
